The Garrett Heights Friends of GHEMS invites you to become an involved member of our organization. Friends of GHEMS plays a vital role at Garrett Heights. Your time, talent, and resources support provide our students with many exciting and challenging programs that would not be available Garrett Heights without your support of the Friends of GHEMS

Research has shown that parental involvement has a very significant impact on a child’s achievement and attainment at school. Additionally, becoming a member gives you a powerful voice for all students and provides a new perspective on our program! The Friends of GHEMS at Garrett Heights is a way to create a team of parents and teachers committed to an excellent education for all our Garrett Heights Lions!

As we begin a new school year, I’d like to say welcome to our new families and welcome back our returning families. Garrett Heights is a great school with exceptional teachers, a caring staff, and amazing students! I am happy to be the President of the Friends of GHEMS and part of an involved and committed community.

By getting involved at Garrett Heights Elementary / Middle School you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. But there are many more advantages. To the right are just a few:

Connect with other parents

Parenting is not easy—it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. Friends of GHEMS functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.

Make your voice heard

Being a part of the Friends of GHEMS is a great place to exchange ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. The Friends of GHEMS can be a way for you to more effectively suggest real change at Garret Heights Elementary / Middle School.

The Friends of GHEMS knows what’s happening with the school, who’s involved, and usually plans many of the events. You will have a much stronger connection with your child’s daily activities.
